Our first tip of these two laundry hacks is also supposed to save money as when you ve finished a load in the dryer you can save the aluminum foil ball for next time. Not only does it eliminate static the tin foil is reusable for future loads. Trust us it works.

Make your own dryer sheets. This trick is so simple. Aluminum foil dryer balls are a green alternative to commercial dryer sheets or liquid fabric softener. The ball is not going to get hotter than the air the dryer pumps out so unless your dryer already burns the edges of your clothes the aluminum ball won t.

All you need to do is tear off three sheets of aluminum foil each about a foot long. Yes you can make your own dryer sheets. While in the dryer they absorb electrical charges so your clothes stay static free. Aluminum foil will also fail to soften the clothes like a dryer sheet would.

I am just surprised i had never heard of this before. Aluminum dryer balls will not provide your clothes with the floral scents you re used to with dryer sheets. Theoretically you put a rolled up ball of aluminum foil in the dryer instead of using a dryer sheet and then you can say good bye to static cling. I like the fact that the foil balls can be reused over and over agin too.

They also tumble happily with your laundry softening it as it drys. Just crumple a strip of foil into a ball about the size of a baseball and toss it in the dryer with your laundry.

Most dryer sheets contain animal fat which builds up on your clothes and dryer lint screen over time. It would definately be cheaper than buying dryer sheets all the time. Yay for life hacks. Roll them together in a ball about two to three inches in diamater and toss that ball into the clothes dryer along with your laundry.
